Embroidery Software Gives You Unlimited Possibilities

You have an embroidery machine – now you want some great embroidery software to try out on it! Where to go? Fortunately, most embroidery machines are programmed with at least 60-100 patterns to get you started, but this will seldom keep the embroidery enthusiast satisfied for long, and he or she will be on the lookout for embroidery software for their machine as soon as possible.

Embroidery software is simply the modern-day version of a pattern – it tells the computer chip inside your embroidery machine how to direct the needles, threads and bobbin in order to create the many elaborate machined embroidery patterns an embroidery machine can produce. It’s what enables an individual to quickly produce a series of sweatshirts, denim blouses or other items for a craft sale or other event embroidered with nearly perfect precision that have incredible detail and numerous colors.

Many times you can order embroidery software in sets so that you get a whole “theme” of various patterns on one CD or download. Popular themes for embroidery software packs include:

  • Holidays, such as Christmas, Hanukah, Thanksgiving, etc.

  • Major Religions (Christianity, Muslim, Judaism)

  • Patriotic images

  • Sports themes

  • Monograms and alphabets

  • Florals

  • Animals and birds

Where Can I Get Embroidery Software?

You can find great embroidery software almost anywhere that you find sewing notions and embroidery supplies. But the best site on the web by far is www.Annthegran.com, where you’ll find a fabulous selection of downloadable embroidery patterns and software for your machine. These have all been donated by others and you are allowed to use them for yourself, for gifts, even for making items for resale, as long as you don’t sell the patterns themselves. You have to register and get a password, but it is well worth it, I promise. There are thousands of beautiful images, with more added every week.

Also check out www.freeembroiderystuff.com, where you can not only get some free patterns, but test drive some of the new digitizing software for free. They also have several links to other freebies for crafters and sewists. A small site with a limited number of free embroidery software downloads (but very attractive ones) is www.gosiadesigns.com. They also have packs for only $1.00 that are worth the price at this small company, so give them a look-see, and if you can order a few of their regular priced items.

Your local shop will be able to offer great sales on embroidery software as well, and they generally go on sale at least twice a year, so do shop around. There are literally thousands of packages available today, so there are no limits!
